The much anticipated self-titled Civil Wars album is almost here. If you are impatient for the release like we are, I have a solution. You can stream the whole album here. I know I have this album on pre-order, but the sneak peak will do for now. c.

With the much anticipated release of the “Civil Wars” new self-titled album on August 6, there has been a lot of speculation as to what is happening with the duo. This New York Times article includes an interview with Williams about why her and John Paul no longer speak. “This is my life, and my life is on this album. And if you want to know what happened to the band, listen to the album.” Such a bummer that they, as of now, won’t be performing the new album live, but it also adds to the emotions that this band tends to pull out of you. Let’s hope that success of this new album will bring these two brooding geniuses back together. c.
C and I have posted the same song. I won’t actually apologize to you guys, but I will tell you that great minds think alike and you best be giving this song a listen. Otherwise, we’ll set J on you…she’s terrifying.
All of our love,

1. They are amazing.
2. They have a new album coming out.
3. If this song is any indication of what the album is going to be like, I’m excited. a
The Civil Wars have a new album coming out on August 6. If this song is any indication of the material on the album, I am super pumped. Here is the first single “The One Who Got Away.” Enjoy and anticipate. c.
I have previously posted about the “Civil Wars” and their tune “Poison and Wine.” I seem to turn to them every semester around finals time–can you blame me? Their sultry sound and powerful lyrics could get anyone through hours of studying evidence. While listening to them on repeat d told me to check out Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova–a duet that calls themselves The Swell Season. “Falling Slowly” is a haunting tune. c.
