With a new LP coming out, Spark Seeker, Matis has a new look to match. He chopped off his beard and shaved his head. It isn’t so much a make-over as it was a need for a change, he said. It was marking the end to a ten-year era. He does not deny that he is not the iconic Hasidic Jewish rapper. Although it seems like he is letting that profile slowly dissolve, he is still the mighty Matisyahu that shines a unique light. Check out the acoustic “Sunshine” he performed yesterday.

Join Matisyahu on May 8th at 12:30pm EST/ 9:30am PST for the world premiere of “Sunshine”, the first single from his new album “Spark Seeker” out July 17th. Matisyahu will host a Google+ Hangout with his fans to discuss the upcoming record, summer tour, and debut the lyric video for “Sunshine”.
