brain matter

Jordan Miller’s “Get Away” from the new EP Public Consumption dropped 12/12/12.  Right now, things are a little unclear about who is involved with this project and if The Movement will ever get back together.  Miller has his name on the album, but is going on a mini tour with his buddies Britt Barker, Drew Corontzes under the name The Executives.

JM gets away

As we have said before, pbandjams has a special place for the Movement and Jordan Miller–so it only appropriate that you hear about Jordan Miller’s new single ASAP. This summer Jordan Miller (the lead singer, and co-founder of the movement) announced that he was taking somewhat of a hiatus from the Movement right after the release of “One More Night” which was arguably their best stuff yet. The other members of the band took to twitter and Facebook and insisted that Jordan was leaving to pursue a solo career. JM vehemently denied these rumors–said he was leaving for other reasons. In many messages to fans both sides told totally different stories.

However, JM is releasing his solo EP “Public Consumption” on 12/12/12. In anticipation for this album he has released a single entitled “Getaway” and it is really great–he isn’t losing his reggae vibe at all. If this is foreshadowing his EP I think it will be pretty fantastic. Enjoy and support. c.

So in light of recent events in  WA and CO  I figured I should post a song entitled “herbalize the nation.” and I saw this band “Fear Nuttin'” open for SOJA back in the day–they are a high energy and eclectic band. Rap, reggae and a some rock make up their unique sound. They released a new album on November 6 called “Vibes Love & Revolution” “Herbalize the nation” is a great track on their new CD–I might be bias because I am a huge fan of Jordan Miller, “former” lead singer of The Movement–he adds a great vibe to this tune. It is less rock then the rest of the album. Check these guys out. c.

all i need

So early this year The Movement caused an uproar on all social media outlets.  The lead singer, front man, co-founder, and all-around charmer, Jordan Miller, announced to his band of brothers that he needed to take some time and “get healthy.”  Because he announced this while they were in the midst of touring to promote their new album, One More Night (ironic, no?) fellow band members, and many dedicated fans, took this as a slap in the face.  Was he going to start a solo career?  Was he going to rehab?  The rumors and accusations were few and far between.  Whatever the truth may be, albeit there is an inkling of a return, Jordan left the band.  The remaining members coerced former co-founder Joshua Swain to return to the band to finished their scheduled gigs.  The energy was there but the vibe wasn’t.  The band has a special chemistry when all members are together.  The Movement will never be The Movement without Jordan Miller.

While Jordan has been taking a break, he hasn’t put down his guitar.  In fact, he will be releasing an EP, Public Consumption, sometime in October.  It is a little less reggae, but still very much him.  Maybe that’s just what his break was for, to find himself.  The songs he has posted online, especially “All I Need” remind me of what “When that Feeling Goes Away” started out as caustically and transformed to a hit on One More Night.  Maybe we will see The Movement together before we know it.  Hey, a girl can hope.
