SOJA’s video “I Believe” featuring Michael Franti and Nako just premiered on VH1. There isn’t a lot to it, but humans and Earth. (Listen to the lyrics. Heavy, right?) These humans are good humans and, boy, did I need this. Maybe we all need this.
“Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons…” Desiderata, Max Ehrmann
Here’s some sunshine to brighten up your Thursday: a good song by a good band who put together a good video with other good people you may recognize!

We always love SOJA’s remixes. Mentality was a fav and now they just released a remix of “Tell Me” featuring Richie Campbell. Listen here. c.
If you don’t follow Jacob Hemphill, SOJA front man, on Instagram well you are TOTALLY missing out. He has released some lyrics that he is working on from his new album which is a complete tease for all of us SOJA fans, but honestly anything that Jacob does is alright with me. The new album is supposed to be released early next year, but, I mean who is completely and utterly excited for that? He recently was interviewed on one of DC’s major radio stations. Take a listen. Who knew that he wanted to be a cartoon artist when he grew up? Or who inspired Jacob? What is his favorite show he has ever played? If you are a SOJA fan you will enjoy listening to this interview. c.

Therefore, that is what I am going to do–my favorites Jacob and Collie–dreams do come true–musical dreams…lost for words. happy friday jammers!!!!!!!!!!!!! c.
No wonder Jacob Hemphill, lead singer of SOJA, is a fan. All of this is beautiful…all of it.

Passenger–a British alternative pop/rock/folk band–has won my heart. The lead singer’s voice reminds me a bit of Jacob Hemphill of SOJA but with a sexy British accent. This band is really stripped down in a lot of their videos which shows their raw talent. Take a listen, you won’t be disappointed. c.
Another break to share SOJA’s new video “Strength to Survive.” Jacob Hemphill had the following to say about the idea behind the video: “I had an idea for this earth-versus-man thing. The tree man represents the earth, and he stops us from killing the earth. The video was directed by Joao Gargate, who we met and vibed with at the Sumol Summerfest in Ericeira, Portugal. His clay and photo and ability for creating models out of organics are what drew us to him. His work is amazing.” Without the explanation this video might have seemed like a cartoon but SOJA’s underlying message never wavers and for that, props. enjoy c.
