I don’t know if you all know this, but I am an ENORMOUS Trent Reznor fan. I think he is one of the most talented men in the industry and my heart was broken when I found out I’d never see Nine Inch Nails in concert. But I do love the scores he does with Mr. Ross in The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It is some bad-ass stuff in that it is so subtle but makes such an impact on the films.
ALAS. He has had a new project brewing for quite some time with his wife Mariqueen Maandig, Atticus Ross and Rob Sheridan called “How to Destroy Angels.” The debut album Welcome Oblivion, will drop March 5th.
While I am very excited for the album, and I do dig the single, I feel like I’m going to be a little judgmental towards this shingdig going on here. The best part about Trent Reznor’s work in Nine Inch Nails was the absolute heartache, angst, anger and passion he conveyed through his music. It’s like the bastard got hitched and had no feelings to push through his music anymore. But that’s just how I feel, and sometimes I can be cranky. a
