it’s always 5:00

In honor of c‘s birthday earlier this week (HB C!) and because a and I couldn’t be there to celebrate, here’s a special kind of toast for pb&jams…
I am by no means a wine officionado.  Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate a good wine (and/or whine) and there are kinds I prefer above others.  However, as I’ve come to learn from mamma j, once 5:00 rolls around, it doesn’t really matter what kind is in your glass (just as long as you have a glass in your hand).  If I’m not going for the three-buck-chuck, I’m definitely going for a bottle that catches my eye; be it the shape or the name.  Ie: Fat Bastard, Longboard, Bitch, Irony, Mommy’s Time Out, etc.  It will be no surprise when I tell you that I need to get a glass–scratch that–a bottle of Grateful Dead “Steal Your Face” wine.  Apparently it’s a red wine blend of black cherries and peppered bacon with a velvety vanilla and caramel finish.  It’s part of the Rolling Stone Wine Club and it’s eco-friendly, what’s not to love about Wine’s that Rock?!  The co-founders of the company  were partners in creating UltraStar Entertainment, the world’s larges online fan club company, so they are no strangers to the music industry.  Their vision for Wines that Rock was/is to produce a new category of wine by blending the two worlds of wine and music.  The winemaker of the company, Mark Beamen might have the coolest job of all time.  He just casually listens to music and sips adult juice all day.  He says that from there he thinks “about how to put it all together in a bottle of wine that truly captures the essence of an album.”  So far he’s done enough sipping to birth Rolling Stones’ Forty Licks Merlot, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon, Woodstock Chardonnay, and The Police’s Synchronicity.  I wouldn’t mind having a cocktail party to find out what’s next on his playlist…
