My cousins, sisters and I are completely guilty of making up a dance (or working on the one we had previously choreographed) to “Dancing Queen” (the A*Teens version of course) at each family get-together for the majority of our childhood (and teen) years. After we had felt like our practice was sufficient and we could make it through the routine with only a couple slip ups (mostly due to the younger girls) we would call down our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and perform. It wasn’t until recently that my mom broke the news that they didn’t mind coming down to watch our performance because by that time they all had a few cocktails which made the performance that much better.
Last weekend d took me to see Mamma Mia! at the gorgeous local theatre venue in town. It was amazing–not just because I knew every song but because a piece of my childhood was being performed on stage. The only thing that would have made it better was having my cousins and sisters there with me lip syncing all of our favorite tunes. c.
